The Mrs. Fixxit Family believes that only through giving to others are we truly successful. That is why we all regularly volunteer in our community to try and give back a little of the many blessings we have received.
Haiti Earthquake June, 2010 “6 months after the devastating earthquake that destroyed much of Haiti, Kerrie and her daughter, Ariel traveled to Port Au Prince to work with a relief team delivering aid and medical care to people and children living in the tent cities and orphanages.”
Moore Oklahoma June & July 2013 “ Weeks after multiple storms and deadly tornadoes ripped through the heart of Oklahoma, Mrs. Fixxit sponsored a group of 5 young men to help with the clean-up in the devastated towns of Moore and Shawnee. One month later Kerrie, Pete & their daughter Miranda traveled to Moore to lend a hand.
Community Food Bank: Once a month the Mrs. Fixxit Family loads up the truck with food donations dropped off at the East Windsor Shoprite and delivers them to a local church where the food is sorted and distributed to the RISE community food bank as well as to churches throughout the community.
Volunteer Work Days: Throughout the year, Mrs Fixxit organizes work days for deserving people and organizations in need of a little help around the house. Working with churches, civic groups and individuals, the Fixxit Brigade has painted, repaired, built and cleaned homes in and around the Hightstown/East Windsor area.
Wings of Hope NJ Parrot Rescue: The Fixxit Family also shares their home with foster birds surrendered for adoption to Wings of Hope a registered avian rescue organization. You can see some of our little friends looking for a home on Petfinder.com.
